Bowood Farms is a nursery located in the Central West End in St. Louis. Being such an urban area, it was surprising to find such a large nursery in the city. The owner is originally from the area and wanted to be able to open up a garden center there too. The building was once an auto repair shop but was transformed into this beautiful warehouse and greenhouse. Most of their plants and florals are grown at their own farm about two hours outside of the city. They have such a vast and beautiful selection.
Not only do they sell plants, but they also sell home decor, skin care products, and craft supplies from some of our favorite small businesses, including Rifle Paper Co., Oh, Hello Friend, and Coral & Tusk.
Outside of their warehouse, you can find their garden seating for their restaurant, Cafe Osage, and other outdoor plants. The garden is absolutely breathtaking.
Brooke even found a precious kitty friend to play with while we were there. If only he had been for sale!
Bowood Farms also offers occasional workshops. Brooke and I attended one to make our own terrariums. It was so much fun, and ours turned out surprisingly beautiful! (Just don't ask how they're doing now...) If you ever find yourself in the Central West End of St. Louis, do yourself a favor and stop in. And also check out their restaurant Cafe Osage! It's so delicious!
