Music Monday: Owen Pye

May 26, 2014

Happy Monday, and happy Memorial Day! Hope most people are getting to spend the day outside and enjoying beautiful spring weather! This Monday we wanted to introduce you to another local musician, Owen Pye.

Owen is an indie/folk artist from Lebanon, IL. His unique style and voice is similar to the likes of Ben Gibbard and Conor Oberst. His music is fun and relatable and nothing is more enjoyable than watching him play guitar, harmonica, and stomp on a tambourine all at the same time. He is currently working on a new record, but release date has not yet been determined, so stay tuned!

One of our favorite songs, and our favorite video of his, is Barriers. The video was produced and directed by his wife, Jillian, and is in stop motion! You have to at least admire the time and planning that goes into that. It's beautiful and so cool. Enjoy!

For all the St. Louis readers, he has an upcoming show on June 12 at Plush. More info here. Also, for more Owen Pye music, you can check out his music on his website here.
